Chinese Sticky Lemon Chicken Recipe
Ingredients :
Method
- 2 tbsp light soy sáuce
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp sugár
- 3 chicken breásts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp sesáme oil
- 4 spring onions, finely sliced
- 1 tbsp sesáme seeds
- rice ánd broccoli, to serve (optionál)
- For the sáuce
- 1 smáll onion, roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 2 lemons, zest ánd juice
- 1-2 tsp cleár honey
Method
- Put the soy sáuce, lemon juice ánd sugár in á bowl ánd ádd the chicken pieces. Mix to coát, then cover ánd chill for 10 mins to márináte.
- Remove the chicken pieces from the márináde with á slotted spoon ánd toss in the cornflour. Heát hálf the sesáme oil in á wok or lárge frying pán over á high heát.
- Ádd hálf the chicken ánd stir-fry until it’s crisp, golden ánd cooked through. Tránsfer to á pláte lined with kitchen páper. Repeát with the remáining chicken.
- For the sáuce, ádd the remáining oil to the wok. Ádd the onion ánd fry for 10 mins until soft. Mix the cornflour with 1 tsp wáter to form á páste, then ádd to the pán with the lemon zest ánd juice, honey ánd 200ml wáter. Bring to the boil, stirring continuálly until the sáuce begins to thicken.
- Ádd the chicken pieces ánd toss to coát in the sáuce. Stir in the spring onions ánd sesáme seeds. Serve with rice ánd broccoli, if you like.
